Some days you want the castle. Some days you want to spend an unreasonable amount of the afternoon deciding what to eat. And some days you want to walk into Star Wars and stay there for a while.

I grew up in Florida with Disney as part of everyday life, so my answer to “which park should I go to?” changes with the person and the day. The park I would suggest for someone who loves animals is not automatically the one I would choose for a Star Wars fan.

My starting recommendations are Animal Kingdom for animals and scenery, EPCOT for travel and food, Magic Kingdom for a classic family Disney day, and Hollywood Studios for Star Wars. I also like Hollywood Studios for teens or a date. Those are starting points, not rules about who is allowed to enjoy which park.

The quiz matches your preferences. Before heading out, check today's park hours, attraction availability and the admission requirements for your ticket. It does not know live wait times or which park you can currently enter. Official park calendars.

Pick the day you want

If one specific ride is the reason you are buying a ticket, let that choice lead. A general park recommendation should not talk you out of the thing you actually came to experience.

Magic Kingdom for the day that starts with the castle

If the day in your head includes Cinderella Castle and familiar Disney characters, start with Magic Kingdom. It is my starting recommendation for a family trip, but the castle-and-classics appeal is not limited to families.

Decide which attractions make this version of a Disney day yours. A family photo, a favorite story and a particular ride may matter more than completing somebody else's long checklist. Check the current attraction descriptions and restrictions before building a plan around them. Magic Kingdom.

EPCOT when food and exploring are part of the plan

EPCOT is where I point people who love travel and food. If browsing different countries and making room for a meal is part of the attraction, that is a useful reason to choose it.

This does not mean you have to build your visit around drinking, or that the park is only interesting between meals. Choose the attractions you care about too, and leave enough time for the parts of World Showcase that drew you here. A food-focused day and a ride-focused day can happen in the same park; the difference is what you prioritize. EPCOT.

Hollywood Studios when you want to step into a movie world

For Star Wars fans, my Florida recommendation is Hollywood Studios. Galaxy's Edge is the direct reason: if that is the world you want to spend time in, it belongs near the top of your decision.

I also like Hollywood Studios for teens or a date. That does not mean every teenager wants the same rides, or that a date has to involve them. Compare what the two of you are excited about before choosing the park on a label alone. If Star Wars is only a mild interest and food is the main event, EPCOT may fit the day better. Hollywood Studios.

Animal Kingdom when the setting matters as much as the attractions

Animal Kingdom is my recommendation for people who love animals. Pandora is also my favorite Disney land for scenery, and I would leave room to enjoy the setting rather than treating it only as the space between attractions.

If exploring is part of what you enjoy about travel, that is a reason to consider this park. Check the animal experiences and attractions you care about, then build the visit around their operating hours. Do not assume every experience stays available until park closing. Animal Kingdom.

What can change the answer today

A good mood match is only useful if it works with the day you have. Before you leave, check:

  • Admission: whether your ticket or pass permits the park and date, and whether a reservation is required for that admission type.
  • Time: today's operating hours, including any separately ticketed event that changes the regular park day.
  • Your must-do: whether the ride, show or experience that decided the choice is operating.
  • Your group: attraction restrictions, individual comfort and how much walking or activity everyone wants.

If you only have a few hours, pick a few things you would be happy to do. Do not interpret a quiz result as a promise you can complete a whole park before dinner.

The useful answer is the park whose experiences match what you want from this visit. Take the quiz for a starting point, read why it chose that park, and compare the runner-up if you are torn.
