Hannah Abroad is a personal travel journal. This page explains email subscriptions and the optional analytics used to understand which stories are useful and how people find the site.

Email subscriptions are not open yet. This website is not currently collecting newsletter email addresses.

Your choice

Google Analytics loads only after you accept analytics. Declining keeps it off and does not affect access to the site. Your choice is saved in this browser for up to 180 days, unless you clear browser storage. If your browser blocks storage, you may be asked again on your next visit.

You can also open Analytics settings in the footer. Turning analytics off stops future collection, clears this site’s Google Analytics cookies, and reloads the page. It does not delete measurements already sent to Google.

What analytics measures

With your analytics permission, travel quizzes measure starts, completions, and clicks from a result to a guide or official planning page. Events identify the quiz and may report a recommended route, Disney destination, or birthday destination, or a general unavailable result. Your individual answers, budget preferences, travel party, walking or accessibility needs, and travel timing are not sent with these events. Quiz answers stay in the current page; sharing copies only a route or destination link.

After acceptance, Google Analytics records page visits and technical information such as browser and device details. Google may use this information to report approximate location, referral sources, and visits over time. Analytics cookies help distinguish visits; this site sets them to expire within 180 days.

Page addresses and referring addresses sent by this site omit query strings and fragments. Restricted campaign labels may be used to understand which shared links bring readers here. Please do not put personal information in campaign labels. This integration does not send names, email addresses, form entries, or a user account ID.

Google Signals, advertising personalization, and advertising storage are disabled. Hannah Abroad does not use this integration for advertising tracking.

Services that receive information

Google processes the analytics information after acceptance. You can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services and Google’s privacy policy.

Vercel hosts the website and processes ordinary technical requests needed to deliver its pages and images. That hosting is separate from optional Google Analytics. See Vercel’s privacy policy for information about its service.

Contact and story requests

The Contact, Work with me, and Request a blog post forms prepare an email in your browser. The website does not submit or store these messages on a server. Opening your email app passes the prepared message to that app; copying it places it on your clipboard. You choose whether to send it. Once sent, your email provider and Hannah’s email provider handle the message.

Packing checklist

The personal-item packing checklist saves the items you tick in this browser so you can return to them. Those choices are not sent to Hannah or included in this site’s analytics events. Use “Clear ticks” on the checklist, or clear this site’s browser storage, to remove them. If storage is blocked, the checklist still works during the current page visit.
